ESET Antivirus users!!?

My uncle installed ESET and it keeps saying

Invalid Username and/or Password

So when i click Update Setup, it says,

Please enter the username and password recieved after purchase or registration. We strongly recommend that you copy from your registration email and paste to the appropiate fields below.

Is this thing free anyways?

My question is, what do i do???

ESET Antivirus users!!?triumph

Eset (NOD 32) is not a free program. It only offers a free trial time-limited evaluation period, then you must purchase.

Good Antivirus/spyware/adware/firew... - What's the best and cheapest?

I got rid of Nortons a month or so ago, but don't feel comfortable with the free ware I am using as they rely on me remembering to check for update and run the checks. You hear a lot about Nortons and McFees and some about AVG, but which is the best package to buy. I don't want to pay heaps, but need something good as I am going to do some of my clients books on my computer so need to keep their stuff safe. Thanks

I use AVG now, in the past I used Avast, both are free and do a good job.

Go to the official site of bitdefender and get the free version. you can see it is the best! forget about avg, kaspersky ,panda and of course Norton! norton was the best when it was the only one around! now it can work great only in GameBoys! and maybe Atari! and in my opinion... and the other one below Bitdefender. in antiviruses you can trust only the first one just like the condoms! it is exactly the same situation!

Avast antivirus?

on the free version.......whay do you all think, I cannot at the present time afford a paid program, thanks.

Avast antivirus?virus protection

I have been using it on 2 systems for more than a year, it is just great!

Avast antivirus?agv

It is because, they are just trying to help you, get something free..Why would you want to pay, for a product, if you can get just as good a product. for free.. I don't think that they meant you could not afford it, it's just that it is free..Some free products, are better, than the ones you have to pay for..I hope that this helped you..
The most important is: The man behind the gun.

Avast is good enough. I use it for years. Some AntiVirus programs can not update their virus database if users log in using restricted account, but Avast does! To make your sistem more strength, you should install FireWall and Anti Spyware, and don't forget to always update your operating system. If your computer is used by several users (for example at school or cybercafe), I suggest you to install DeepFreeze.

These is only my humble opinion. If you see my comments is good, please do rate it. Thank you, and have a nice day.

Top anti-virus software should be easy enough for a computer novice to both use and install. The software should effectively seek out and identify virus threats, as well as clean or isolate infected files. There should be understandable reporting available for each scan and plenty of help support available, so you can be well informed of the software鈥檚 activities and capabilities. McAfee, it works rlly good for me, and i kno allot of them do this, but it blocks u from going to an EXTREMELY virus filled site... well it gives you the option... but it still cool
kaspersky is better
Avast!

It's free and it works.
Kaspernasky.
AVG is alright. I installed it on a system for a friend of mine who didn't want to spend any money. I also installed Zone Alarm, and never had any major issues.

I use Norton, which also offers firewall protection for me.

You might also check with your ISP. Mine provides the CA products as a free service.
i agree you need a number of things on your comp and i will tell you things that are all free and amazing.

1. avg for anitvirus

2. lovasoft ad-aware for spyware and malware protection

Norton Antivirus and Macafee?

Is there an alternative too these two programs. I ran Nortons and cant update my virus files due to a bogus error and macafee was worse. Any other options out there? Any free ones?

Norton Antivirus and Macafee?virus scanner

Hi there,

Instead of all these "Mine is better than yours" answers that go on around here, I'll instead answer with the facts.

Looking at current protection ratings, AVG scores a lowly 90% protection against all known viruses, whilst Avast comes in at 92%. This means they are letting through roughly one in every ten viruses - pretty shocking.

Norton and McAfee are slightly better by protecting against 98.3% and circa 97% respectfully of all known viruses. However, Norton and McAfee can be known for being very heavy programs which can tend to slow down certain machines. If you are thinking of installing either of these I would definitely recommend you download their free trial to check it does not affect your machine in this way prior to opening your wallet.

If you would be interested in other Security products that are better than all of these, you should try either Prevx1, Kaspersky or F-Secure who all score over a 99% protection rating.

Out of these three my recommendation would be Prevx1, as this is the quickest at protecting against new outbreaks of malware.
