How can I eradicate virus from my computer? i can't seem to run yahoo anti-spy.?

When I try to download some free antivirus/malware software, my computer always shust down then restarts. Please help me solve this problem. Is there a possible way to manually erase these viruses?

Go to http://www.avast.com They have a Virus Scanner on their Home Page. Run it and delete the Virus and then REBOOT. They also have a FREE Virus protector you can download.

Click on the link for Panda ActiveScan.

Make sure you do a full system scan.

my free antivirus , AVG , doesn't update anymore , when I hit the "check for updates " button it says it can't connect whit the server.

I updated it before without problems and I didn't block it whit the firewall or changed the configurations. I even reinstalled it but it still doesn't update. how do I fix this ?

did you launch the anti-virus program then check for updates?

after you launch it click on Update Manager then click settings then go to the URL tab then make sure it says free.grisoft.com

It normally gives you an option during the install to update from the internet or update from file. You must click internet, and should also click never ask again. Try another install, ensure you see this section on the update part of the install, and if this still does not work, look to your internet connection settings. Ensure the machine is not looking for proxies, Automatically detect proxy should be turned off. If this does not help, download an anti-spyware scanner. There is a free one at the avg site. sometimes spyware can change settings to prevent virus updates.

1: scroll lock was stuck on the keyboard when text-based applications were common, like telnet and DOS. hit scroll lock and it used to stop the scrolling text so you can read it before it moves offscreen.

2: The function keys do different things. f5 reloads the web browser, alt+f4 closes the program you're using, f11 usually makes the browser go fullscreen, kind of have to look them up.

since using norton 360 i have endless problems regarding virus's, malware, spyware etc....they wanted 100 euros to sort out a problem i couldn't fix (i emailed BBC's watchdog regarding the support norton offers) so far i spoken to karun%26lt;, sibil and ajun, who recommended norton support. eventualy i sorted the problem using AVG free antivirus (highly recommended) and sana software.
