Still getting pop ups?

I have a

Trend Micro Pc Cillin Internet Security 14 and It detected a virus after it scanned it

Well i deleted it and put it on the ignore list

So i scanned the Spyware thing

and im still getting popups and im still lagging a little bit

and it keeps changing my desktop image

Why is this?

And what can i do to change it?

Wat am i doing wrong or am i forgetting something?

Im not falling for the FREE antivirus downloads or whatever pop ups so dont worry

Im just worried that itll get worse

So what can i do to make it stop before it does?

Well you can try Avira at google but I have never used online ones because there is so much copying of names going about and they are spammers and viruses. I would buy Norton if I were you on CD-ROM.

i got hijacked by malware a couple of weeks ago,and it took me 6hrs to get out of,and i couldnt recomend highly enough,that first one,superantispyware4,it sorted mine out no problem,good luck,peAce.
BitDefender Free Edition is also very good antivirus program. You can download it from Download.com for free. It works great for me.

Computer is slow?

i got a fast computer but it going slow, it gets popups of naked girls all the time and my explorer wont work and there is a yellow icon on the taskbar that says my computer is infected with a virus, and i got another icon, its a ball with spikes on it and it links me to a porn site, and i cant have any viruses at all because i have AVG Free Antivirus and it has never told me i have a virus????? so do i need a new computer or should i install vista i heard it is impossible to get viruses with vista

Vista can get infected just like any operating system. It sounds like you have been infected with spyware trojans.

As the biggest of the problems seem to be associated with Spyware, for starters, download, update and run a full scan using the following product:

As far as defrag, it is part of XP. Go to all programs -%26gt; accesories -%26gt; system tools.

Run disk CLEAN UP BEFORE YOU RUN DEFRAG. If you have any errors and need to run chkdsk it will let you know.
As the other people that answered, Windows XP does have a built in defragger. But IMO its not that great. Its slow. I recommend Diskeeper, much better and faster than the built in defragger that comes with XP.
