when I open my pc,then there appears the warning sign stating that winAntivirus has detected 1 severe infections on ur pc,if not treated immediately,then it may lead to,

lost of document n settings

permanent data lost

system not starting up

system slows down n crashes

loss of internet connection

infecting other internet connection

infecting other computer on ur network

and in the right side it is ststed that the threat name is comet system and the threat type is Adware,what sud I do?If there is risk which kind free Antivirus sud I download to prevent my pc?

Sounds like a spyware not a virus. Try downloading and running Adaware from lavasoft.de

Also free anti-virus sw can be downloaded from free.grisoft.com

Don't trust it. winAntivirus did not even show up on www.download.com, and most of the antivirus apps will show there. If you don't already have this software installed on your computer then there is no reason for you to be getting alerts from it. Most adware programs use scare tactics to persuade you to purchase their software. Plenty of free trials of virus scanners here: http://www.download.com/Antivirus/3150-2...
If you are running windows XP make sure you turn off your auto recovery then run a virus scan, delete any virus's and then turn the auto recovery back on.

what is game.exe. if it is a program that u cant delete and niether the antivirus can delete then start in safe mode by pressing F8 when the computer starts and from the safe mode u can delete the game.exe
Boot your PC into safe mode, do another scan with AVG and hopefully it will remove it.

If not, you might need to look for the process in your task manager and try to end the process, then quickly delete it with AVG.

Cant get rid of spyware totally?

if i unistall windows XP sp2 and reinstall it will that eliminate the spyware or do i have to unistall everything on here i have AVG free antivirus and spybot S%26D it gets rid of most but some creep back in like trojans and stuff

2) uninstalling sp2 does nothing for removing spyware at all

3) if your trojans still keep returning, it means you installed limeware or some other p2p. you have to reinstall your windows to clean up the damage it does to your security

No, reinstalling your operating system will likely not get rid of the spyware you are infected with. A reformat would do that, but we don't need to reach that step.

I don't know of any decent free programs to have running on your computer all the time, but this is a decent program to run to see if you have a virus. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ I beleive it cleans them as well if you have one.
AVG-Free is another good one.

I've tried several and in my op for a free program AVG is the best. But don't forget to check into a firewall.

My dad's computer has AFV or is it AVF??? sorry! Check them out, ask a computer specialist, it is free! Norton and McAfee actually slowed down our computer, but so far AFV...or AVF is working! Good Luck! :-)

what you got is a trojan so follow the virus steps above will = the same results as if you just went after a trojan.

there is No Removal Tool you can skip that step.

So I was using Firefox and trying to translate a Japanese website and I wanted something better than Google Language Tools. So I clicked one result and 3 Popups and a dialog box asking me to download some free antivirus software appeared (I'm 99% Sure it's a WinFixer Clone), but I forgot about one thing, and clicked the X command in the dialog box. Suddenly a webpage opened. I didn't know what to do so I forced quit on my computer (I held down the OFF button). Now I know the whole bit on the WinFixer Trojan. I don't think anything downloaded yet because I didn't see the Firefox Downloads window. But now, I want to know, is it safe to turn my computer back on? I forced quit as soon as the webpage opened, but I'm not quite sure if it downloaded. This all happened last week. Can someone please help me?

I have a

Trend Micro Pc Cillin Internet Security 14 and It detected a virus after it scanned it

Well i deleted it and put it on the ignore list

So i scanned the Spyware thing

and im still getting popups and im still lagging a little bit

and it keeps changing my desktop image

Why is this?

And what can i do to change it?
