Whats the best antivirus software to get?

ive got norton 2005 which runs out soon. whats the best to get. not keen on the free ones. im into games mainly so i would like something that doesn't hog the system as much as nortons.

Here we go again. "Norton crap, system hog, Kaspersky best, Get AVG it's free, McAfee OK, Get AVG again as it's free, Avast, blah, blah blah" what the hell. Look at some security software reviews, please! All this question becomes is an opinion thread.

I have been using AVG (http://free.grisoft.com/) for several years now and have never been infected with a virus/trojan/worm, despite frequenting many sites that are often associated with such malware.
McAffee or Norton I think.

im not up on these things as ive just been using my pc for a few months,but my nephew is well good and knows alot about these things.in saying that he has some antivirus protection call symantec? i think thats right,i found someone mention AVG antivirus free download when i asked my nephew about it and he said to give it a try,he did too,he found his laptop had 8 trojans,so what does that say for the one he pays for?
I have Norton 2007 + Spybot, search and destroy (free) No probs.

You not get Internet security for free all the other ones you hear about are just virus scanners
Prevx 2 is about 拢15 a year and does the lot,i use it and always recommend it. Don't bother with norton again,too unreliable and expensive.
